Following the developments in Russia and the closre of the Russian market to investors from designated countries in 2022, HSBC suspended the NAV and dealing in the HSBC MSCI Capped UCITS ETF.
The suspension continues to this day.
On the 24th of February 2023, anticipating the upcoming discontinuation as of march 1st 2023, the issuer published a circular in which it announced that the Fund will be terminated on the 24th of March 2023, and that the shares will be desisted around that date.

According to HSBC, on the Closure date holders ownership of the shares will cease.
HSBC ETFs Plc has advised in its circular that there is currently no value in the underlying assets of the Fund and that it is unlikely that there will be any distribution or redemption proceeds.
In order to provide liquidity and monetization for holders, Southey Capital is offering to buy out existing holders of the Fund in advance of the Closure Date and is willing to pay USD 0.50 per share offereed and accepted for tender.
