Southey Capital is interested in buying the creditor claims Maple Bank GmbH
In February 2016, the German bank regulator BaFin declared that Maple Bank GmbH was unable to meet it customers obligations. On the same day, the insolvency process was started in the courts of Frankfurt am Main.
In March 2016, deposit customers of the bank received €2.6Bn of deposits back. However for creditors with Schuldscheins and other debts, the process continues and will take many years.
Recovery Process
So far as of 2020 11, creditors have received c. 40% of their debts back, however there are big quetions still regarding the total return that can be expected.
